TN SB1597

Expands the definition of "next of kin" for death certificate purposes to include both the person with highest priority under existing law (§ 62-5-703) and any surviving parent of the decedent

Authorizes the decedent's spouse, child, parent, or other next of kin to request specific information on death certificates

Allows the other parent of a decedent's minor child (under 18) to request death certificate information, even if not married to the decedent

Permits authorized representatives of eligible family members to make death certificate requests on their behalf

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law
