Expands the definition of "firefighter" under Tennessee Code Section 7-51-201 to include arson investigators employed by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation or serving as sworn deputies of county sheriff's departments

Extends eligibility for firefighter disability benefits to qualifying arson investigators who were previously not covered under the statute

Broadens the scope of the definitional language from applying only to one subsection to applying throughout the entire section of code

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law due to public welfare considerations
