Personal delivery devices may operate on sidewalks, crosswalks, bicycle lanes, shoulders, roadway edges, and parking lots throughout Tennessee, with a maximum speed of 20 mph in non-sidewalk areas

Devices are prohibited from bicycle lanes, shoulders, or roadway edges where speed limits exceed 45 mph, and from interstate highways or controlled access highways

Crosswalk use requires devices to be programmed to properly react to signals, identify pedestrians and traffic, and yield right-of-way

Local governments may regulate or prohibit personal delivery devices for public safety reasons, but regulations must be consistent with state law
