Governor-appointed members to state university boards must be confirmed by joint resolution of both the Senate and House of Representatives before beginning their term

Board member terms will begin on February 1 and expire six years thereafter, replacing the previous term structure

Current board members serving when the act takes effect will have their terms extended to January 31 immediately following their original expiration date to align with the new schedule

Tennessee State University board appointments are specifically included under these same confirmation and term alignment requirements

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law
