Active duty military members stationed outside Tennessee under official orders are exempt from additional registration fees for all-electric vehicles when renewing their registration

Exemption requires submitting a copy of official military stationing orders to the county clerk at the time of vehicle registration renewal

Vehicle must be titled and registered in the service member's name, either alone or jointly with a spouse or lineal relative

Exemption does not apply to service members stationed at military reservations that straddle Tennessee's border with another state

Takes effect July 1, 2026, applying to registrations renewed on or after that date
