Assault against a law enforcement officer or first responder becomes a Class E felony with a mandatory $10,000 fine and 60 days incarceration with no early release eligibility

Assault against a nurse becomes a Class A misdemeanor with a mandatory $5,000 fine and 30 days incarceration with no early release eligibility

Amends Tennessee Code Annotated, Section 39-13-116(c)(1) to establish these enhanced penalties
