Conventional or Class D school buses used exclusively for after-school program transportation may operate until 20 years from in-service date or 300,000 miles, whichever occurs later

Owners may continue operating buses through the remainder of the school year after reaching the 20-year or 300,000-mile threshold, but must discontinue or replace the bus at year's end

Owners must notify the Department of Safety in writing via certified mail when a bus reaches 20 years of service or 300,000 miles

Removes the existing 18-year maximum age limit from current school bus regulations

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law
