Establishes maximum hardwater level of 180 mg/L (measured as calcium carbonate equivalents) for public water systems in Tennessee, effective July 1, 2026

Requires compliance only for public water systems that receive state funds for system upgrades costing $25,000 or more on or after July 1, 2026; systems not receiving such funds are grandfathered from the requirement

Provides temporary exemption for seasonal runoff causing elevated hardwater levels, allowing up to 120 days per year without department approval and requiring return to compliance within 90 days after the runoff period ends

Requires affected systems to notify the department within 10 business days of exceeding the limit due to seasonal runoff and provide documentation that elevated levels are not caused by system deficiencies

Mandates hardwater monitoring per department protocols and inclusion of results in annual water quality reports
