Defines "private residence" as a single-family dwelling or single unit of a multi-family dwelling used for habitation and not open to the public

Requires all newly constructed private residence elevators to be registered with the department within 7 days of being placed in service, effective July 1, 2027

Requires new property owners to notify the department of ownership changes within 60 days of property conveyance when a private residence elevator is present

Exempts private residence elevators from certain required inspection provisions that apply to other elevators

Takes effect upon becoming law for rule promulgation purposes; all other provisions take effect July 1, 2027
