Bureau of TennCare must publish two comprehensive statewide data reports on psychotropic medication use and costs by January 1, 2027, and biannually thereafter, in consultation with the Department of Health and Department of Children's Services.

First report covers all TennCare members prescribed psychotropic medications, categorized by five age groups (birth-5, 6-12, 13-17, 18-64, 65+), number of distinct medications prescribed (ranging from 1-3 to 15+), county of residence, and total costs broken down by state and federal funds.

Second report focuses specifically on children in state custody and young adults (ages 18-23) receiving foster care services who are prescribed psychotropic medications for 90 days or longer.

Reports must be posted publicly on the TennCare website and transmitted to the Senate Health and Welfare Committee and relevant House committee within 90 days of each calendar year end and state fiscal year beginning.

All data must be de-identified and comply with HIPAA requirements, including suppression of small cell sizes to prevent re-identification of individuals.
