Local education agencies (LEAs) with exterior school bus cameras must enter into a memorandum of understanding with local law enforcement covering evidence review and enforcement procedures

Only POST-certified or state-commissioned law enforcement officers, including school resource officers, may review camera footage to determine if a traffic violation occurred

LEAs may additionally authorize school safety personnel—including school safety officers, school resource officers, or contracted security staff—to review bus camera evidence

Law enforcement and school safety personnel review processes may operate concurrently without restricting either approach

Takes effect immediately upon becoming law
