Establishes eligibility requirements for medication aide certification: minimum age 18, high school diploma or equivalent, completion of board-approved training, and passing a standardized exam within 2 attempts

Expands who may qualify for certification to include certified nurse aides with 1+ year experience, licensed occupational therapy assistants with 1+ year experience, and nursing students in good standing

Creates alternative certification pathway for nursing students who have completed coursework in nursing fundamentals, basic pharmacology, and medication administration

Requires medication aide training programs to be completed within 14 to 90 days from the class start date

Authorizes reciprocity for out-of-state medication aides who hold credentials from states with requirements as stringent as Tennessee's

Effective July 1, 2026, with immediate effect for rulemaking purposes
