Requirements apply to all public infrastructure projects funded or approved by state agencies, municipalities, metropolitan governments, or county governments

Public works contracts involving stormwater infrastructure must include compliance provisions; contractors failing to install required safety covers may have payments withheld and face corrective action

The department shall promulgate rules establishing specifications for approved safety covers and inspection protocols
