Commissioner of health must conduct a study on the use of designated caregivers for admitted hospital patients in neighboring states, using existing resources

Study will examine the prevalence of designated caregiver programs and identify best practices for their implementation

"Caregiver" is defined as any patient-designated individual (relative, partner, friend, or neighbor) who provides after-care assistance to a patient at their residence

Report with findings and legislative recommendations must be submitted to the Senate chief clerk, House chief clerk, and legislative librarian by December 31, 2026

Act takes effect immediately upon becoming law
