Authorizes school employees designated by the principal to conduct student searches in the principal's absence, provided they complete required orientation and training developed by the Department of Education.

Requires local education agencies (LEAs) to notify parents and guardians within 48 hours when a credible threat of violence or significantly disruptive behavior is reported to law enforcement and confirmed through a threat assessment.

Clarifies that reports made to school resource officers or armed school security officers do not constitute reports to law enforcement agencies for purposes of triggering parental notification requirements.

Mandates local school boards to report quarterly on the total number of credible threats requiring parental notification, both for the quarter and year-to-date.

Takes effect July 1, 2026.
