Eligible private nonprofit colleges and universities in Tennessee may purchase goods and services through state cooperative purchasing contracts at the same terms and pricing available to public institutions of higher education

Eligible institutions must be accredited by a federally recognized body, located in Tennessee, and authorized to operate by the Tennessee Higher Education Commission

Participation is voluntary and requires no state appropriations; the state bears no financial responsibility for purchases made by private institutions

Vendors are prohibited from charging private institutions higher prices than public institutions or retaliating against institutions that participate; violations constitute unfair trade practices
