Memorial resolution honoring Susan O. Binns of Nashville, a pioneer in addiction recovery housing and treatment in Tennessee

Founded YANA (You Are Never Alone) in 1996, one of Nashville's first recovery housing communities for women, and helped start 13 addiction care and recovery housing programs in Nashville

Established the Tennessee Alliance of Recovery Residences in 2008, the state's first self-governing recovery housing organization

Served as national president of the Association of Halfway House Alcoholism Programs and helped transform it into the National Alliance for Recovery Residences (NARR) in 2011, now representing over 8,000 recovery homes nationwide, including nearly 300 in Tennessee

Received the 2024 Lifetime Achievement Award from the Tennessee Association for Addiction Professionals; survived by children Chandelle C. Binns and John J. Binns
