Honors Dr. Randy Wykoff, founding dean of the College of Public Health at East Tennessee State University, upon his retirement in May 2026

Dr. Wykoff also serves as co-director of ETSU's Center for Rural Health Research and holds four degrees from Tulane University, including an MD and master of public health in tropical medicine

Prior federal service included deputy assistant secretary for health at U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and positions at the FDA; received the Surgeon General's Medallion, the highest civilian honor in the U.S. Public Health Service

Inducted into the Tennessee Health Care Hall of Fame in 2022 and co-edited the award-winning book Appalachian Health: Culture, Challenges, and Capacity
