Recognizes key milestones in women's military service: Army Nurses Corps (1901), Women Armed Services Integration Act (June 12, 1948), and combat jobs opened to women (December 3, 2015)

Acknowledges Tennessee's over 40,000 women veterans who have served with honorable military service

Notes more than 350,000 women served during World War II, including some held as Prisoners of War

Joins with the Veterans Heritage Site Foundation, which is hosting a Women Veterans Appreciation Day program and established Women Veterans Appreciation Week (June 7-13, 2026)
