Nearly 40-year career with AAA East Tennessee conducting traffic safety, public affairs, and public relations programs; helped found the Volunteer Assisted Transportation program that has operated for nearly 17 years

Instrumental in Knoxville being selected in 2006 as one of nine pilot sites for the CarFit national program for senior driving safety; has coordinated or assisted with more than 60 training programs since then

Active with Knox County Health Department's Senior Safety Task Force, fall prevention programs, and the Stay Active and Independent for Life program; volunteers with AARP, Metro Drug Coalition, Front Page Foundation, and Tennessee Commissioner of Health's Council on Injury Prevention

Prior to AAA, worked 10 years as a disc jockey and news reporter at radio stations WSEV in Sevierville and WBIR in Knoxville
