Reduces the Class A misdemeanor theft range from $750-$2,500 to $300-$750

Lowers the state jail felony threshold from $2,500 to $750 for theft offenses, meaning more thefts will be charged as felonies

Increases the value ceiling for state jail felony theft of certain metals (aluminum, bronze, copper, brass) from $20,000 to $30,000

Applies the same lowered thresholds to theft of service offenses and organized retail theft offenses, with changes taking effect September 1, 2025
