Expands the list of religious officials authorized to conduct marriage ceremonies in Texas to explicitly include Buddhist monks or priests, Hindu pundits, Muslim imams, and Sikh granthis

Retains existing authority for licensed or ordained Christian ministers or priests, Jewish rabbis, and current/former/retired federal or state judges to perform marriages

Modifies the catch-all provision for religious officiants by removing the requirement that the person be "an officer" of a religious organization, now requiring only that they be authorized by a religious organization to conduct marriages

Applies only to marriage ceremonies conducted on or after September 1, 2025, with ceremonies before that date governed by prior law
