Creates the Texas Education Reform Task Force consisting of 13 members to develop recommendations for statutory reform of the Education Code and public school system

Governor appoints 4 members (including a teacher with 10+ years experience, a business community member, and a civic community member); lieutenant governor and speaker each appoint 4 members (3 legislators and 1 school administrator or board trustee); State Board of Education chair designates 1 member

Task force must develop recommendations to promote efficiency, reduce regulatory burdens, and return focus to educational priorities in public education

Report with recommendations for legislative action must be delivered to the governor and legislature by August 31, 2026

Texas Education Agency provides administrative support and may accept gifts, grants, and donations; members receive expense reimbursement but no compensation
