Requires landlords to provide written notice to residential tenants when proposing a rent increase upon lease renewal, including the new rent amount, any property improvements justifying the increase, and the effective date

Notice must be provided at least 7 days before the tenant's deadline to give notice to vacate at the end of the lease term

Landlords who fail to provide timely notice cannot require tenants to give notice to vacate until 7 days after providing proper notice, and cannot increase rent until 7 days after the renewal lease term begins

Tenants may recover a $100 penalty from landlords who fail to comply with the notice requirements

Applies to lease agreements entered into or renewed on or after September 1, 2025
