Raises the age threshold for "indecency with a child" offenses from 17 to 18 years old, meaning sexual contact or exposure involving a person younger than 18 would constitute the offense

Amends the definition of "child" in the sexual assault statute from younger than 17 to younger than 18 years of age

Maintains the definition of "child" as younger than 17 years of age for purposes of certain evidentiary procedures in criminal prosecutions (Article 38.074, Code of Criminal Procedure)

Preserves child safety zone requirements for community supervision and parole conditions when victims are younger than 17, requiring offenders to stay away from schools, playgrounds, and youth centers and attend sex offender counseling

Applies only to offenses committed on or after September 1, 2025, with prior offenses governed by former law
