Prohibits school districts and open-enrollment charter schools from serving foods containing 14 specific additives in free or reduced-price meals under federal breakfast and lunch programs

Banned substances include brominated vegetable oil (BVO), potassium bromate, propylparaben, azodicarbonamide, butylated hydroxyanisole (BHA), and titanium dioxide

Synthetic food dyes prohibited include Red 3, Red 40, Yellow 5, Yellow 6, Blue 1, Blue 2, Green 3, and caramel coloring

Schools that receive a waiver under Section 7.056 of the Education Code are exempt from the prohibition

Requirements apply beginning with the 2026-2027 school year and only to food contracts entered into or renewed on or after September 1, 2026
