TX HB1325

Expands mandatory school transfer rights to children of public servants including peace officers, prosecuting attorneys, servicemembers, and judges (federal, state, county, justices of the peace, and certain judicial officers)

Requires school district boards of trustees to transfer eligible students to another campus within the district or to another school district upon parent request

Defines "parent" to include persons standing in parental relation to a student, and "prosecuting attorney" to include district attorneys, criminal district attorneys, county attorneys, and state prosecuting attorneys

School districts are not required to provide transportation for students who transfer under this provision

Applies beginning with the 2025-2026 school year, with immediate effect if passed by two-thirds vote or September 1, 2025 otherwise
