Requires retailers to label all beef and beef products with the country of origin of the meat, either on the container or on the display case for unwrapped/unpackaged items

Establishes a civil penalty of $1,000 per day for retailers who violate the labeling requirements

Authorizes the attorney general to sue to collect civil penalties and recover reasonable expenses including investigative costs, court costs, attorney's fees, witness fees, and deposition expenses

Amends Chapter 431 of the Health and Safety Code by adding Section 431.085

Takes effect September 1, 2025
