Increases the minimum term of imprisonment to 25 years for aggravated sexual assault when the victim is younger than 14 years of age at the time of the offense

Expands the enhanced penalty by removing the previous requirement that victims be younger than 6 years old to trigger the 25-year minimum, or that specific aggravating factors apply for victims under 14

Simplifies the sentencing structure by eliminating the two-tiered approach that previously distinguished between victims under 6 and victims under 14 with additional aggravating circumstances

Applies only to offenses committed on or after the effective date; offenses committed before remain governed by prior law

Takes effect September 1, 2025
