Authorizes cities with a population of 9,000 or less to change their general election date for officers to the November uniform election date

Cities must meet specific criteria: located predominantly in a county with a total area of less than 6,200 square miles, have adopted a council-manager form of government, and currently hold elections on a date other than the November uniform election date

The deadline for cities to make this election date change is December 31, 2026

The authorization provision expires on January 1, 2027

Takes effect immediately with a two-thirds vote of both legislative chambers, otherwise takes effect September 1, 2025
