Exempts school bus drivers and cafeteria workers from the existing rule that denies unemployment benefits to educational institution employees during academic breaks when they have reasonable assurance of returning to work

School bus drivers who transport students to and from school or school-sponsored activities would become eligible for unemployment benefits during summer and other school breaks

Cafeteria workers at educational institutions would similarly gain eligibility for unemployment compensation during periods when school is not in session

Applies only to unemployment claims filed with the Texas Workforce Commission on or after September 1, 2025

Claims filed before the effective date remain governed by previous law
