Allows handgun license holders to elect to have a designation added to their driver's license or commercial driver's license indicating they are licensed to carry a handgun

Designation must include the person's handgun license number and the period for which the handgun license is effective

License holders with the designation can satisfy identification requirements when carrying a handgun by showing only their driver's license, rather than both a driver's license and separate handgun license

Requires the Department of Public Safety to adopt rules by December 1, 2025, ensuring designations are only issued to qualified applicants and maintained only during valid license periods

Applies to handgun license applications and driver's licenses issued or renewed on or after January 1, 2026, with the act taking effect September 1, 2025
