Authorizes county commissioners courts that adopt a fire code to contract with municipalities or emergency services districts located within the county for fire code administration and enforcement

Allows emergency services districts that have adopted their own fire code to enter into interlocal agreements with the county to assume all or part of the county's fire code enforcement authority

Requires county fire marshals to delegate fire code administration and enforcement to municipalities or emergency services districts when the commissioners court has entered into such a contract

Removes previous language that allowed municipalities to independently initiate contracts with counties for fire code enforcement, shifting contracting authority to the commissioners court

Effective date: September 1, 2025
