Requires admission, review, and dismissal (ARD) committees to consider each commissioner-identified, peer-reviewed, research-based strategy for children with autism or other pervasive developmental disorders when developing individualized education programs (IEPs)

Mandates school districts provide parents written information about autism-appropriate strategies at least 7 days before each ARD committee meeting

Requires committees to document in writing the basis for any determination that a strategy is not appropriate or practicable to include in a child's IEP

Requires translated materials (written or audiotaped) in Spanish for non-English speaking parents whose native language is Spanish, and good faith translation efforts for other languages

Applies beginning with the 2025-2026 school year, with immediate effect upon two-thirds legislative vote or September 1, 2025
