Expands eligibility for juvenile drug court programs by removing the automatic exclusion for juveniles whose substance-related conduct involved firearms, dangerous weapons, use of force against another person, or resulted in death or serious bodily injury

Requires prosecutorial consent for juveniles to participate in drug court programs when their conduct involved carrying, possessing, or using a firearm or other dangerous weapon, or resulted in death or serious bodily injury to another person

Maintains existing eligibility restrictions for adult drug court programs, which continue to exclude offenses involving firearms/weapons, use of force, or death/serious bodily injury

Applies to juveniles entering drug court programs regardless of whether the underlying conduct occurred before, on, or after the effective date

Takes effect September 1, 2025
