Allows courts to issue protective orders against family violence that last for the lifetime of both the protected persons and the person subject to the order

Removes previous restrictions that required specific findings before issuing extended protective orders (such as felony offense, serious bodily injury, or two or more previous protective orders)

Requires only that the court find the person committed family violence to issue an extended protective order exceeding two years

Repeals Section 85.001(d) of the Family Code related to protective order requirements

Applies only to protective orders rendered on or after September 1, 2025; existing orders remain governed by prior law
