Texas Education Agency (TEA) must establish a grant program to help school districts and open-enrollment charter schools collect, analyze, and report career and technical education (CTE) data to improve program effectiveness and student workforce readiness

Grants can fund software procurement and strategies for tracking student engagement in career technical student organizations, work-based learning hours, industry certification results, college/career/military readiness indicators, and CTE enrollment disaggregated by race, ethnicity, gender, and special populations

Grants may also be used to train employees on data analytics software and improve integration of CTE data with the Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS)

Maximum grant amount is $5,000 per recipient, with each district or charter school limited to one grant per 12-month period, and total annual program funding capped at $1.75 million

Grant recipients must report CTE enrollment data to the commissioner through PEIMS or another approved method on a schedule determined by the commissioner
