Prohibits restaurants from labeling or representing imported shrimp as "Texas shrimp," "American shrimp," "Domestic shrimp," or "Gulf shrimp"

Prohibits restaurants from labeling or representing farm-raised shrimp as "wild-caught shrimp"

Defines imported shrimp as any shrimp that does not meet U.S. country of origin requirements for wild or farm-raised shellfish under federal regulations (7 C.F.R. Section 60.128)

Authorizes the Department of State Health Services, public health districts, counties, or municipalities to impose administrative penalties on restaurants violating these labeling requirements, with a good faith belief affirmative defense available

Exempts grocery stores and properly labeled packaged shrimp products from these requirements; compliance required by March 1, 2026, with the act taking effect September 1, 2025
