Owners, lessees, and occupants of nonagricultural land are shielded from liability for damages or injuries arising from actions of peace officers, federal law enforcement officers, or firefighters entering the property with or without permission

Landowners are not liable for damages caused by trespassers, third parties who damage fences or gates without permission, wildlife, or acts of God

The liability protection extends to situations where unauthorized individuals enter the property due to law enforcement/firefighter actions, trespasser conduct, third-party fence/gate damage, wildlife, or natural disasters

Liability protections do not apply if the landowner, lessee, or occupant commits willful, wanton acts or gross negligence

The law applies to causes of action accruing on or after the effective date, with immediate effect if passed by two-thirds vote or September 1, 2025 otherwise
