Repeals Section 548.054 of the Transportation Code, which pertained to vehicle safety inspection requirements for certain travel trailers

Reenacts and clarifies the heading and language of Section 548.510 regarding the Inspection Program Replacement Fee, resolving conflicting amendments from the 88th Legislature (H.B. 3297 and H.B. 198)

Maintains the $7.50 annual inspection program replacement fee for motor vehicles, trailers, semitrailers, pole trailers, and mobile homes at the time of initial registration or renewal

Passed the House on April 30, 2025 (125-10) and the Senate on May 19, 2025 (30-1)

Takes effect immediately upon receiving a two-thirds vote in both chambers; otherwise takes effect September 1, 2025
