Prohibits landlords from banning tenants or their guests from lawfully possessing, carrying, transporting, or storing firearms, firearm parts, or ammunition in rental units, vehicles in parking areas, and common areas necessary for entering/exiting the premises

Establishes civil penalties for landlord violations: $1,000-$1,500 for first offense and $10,000-$10,500 for subsequent violations

Requires tenants to provide written notice to landlords describing the violation, with landlords having 3 business days to cure before a complaint can be filed with the attorney general

Mandates attorney general investigation before legal action, with landlords receiving 15 days to cure violations after notice (unless previously found liable by a court)

Civil penalties collected are deposited into the compensation to victims of crime fund, and the attorney general may recover court costs, attorney's fees, and investigative expenses
