Exempts state prosecutors serving in judicial districts or counties with populations under 400,000 from salary caps that limit combined state and county compensation

Current law requires the comptroller to reduce a state prosecutor's state salary if their total annual pay from state and county sources exceeds the maximum allowed for a district judge with comparable years of service

The salary cap reduction still applies to state prosecutors in larger jurisdictions (populations of 400,000 or more)

Maintains existing protection that prevents the comptroller from reducing any state prosecutor's salary below the base salary paid to district judges

Takes effect September 1, 2025
