Eliminates the requirement for an acquitted person to request expunction of their arrest records, making the process automatic within 30 days of acquittal

Requires expunction orders to be entered by district courts, justice courts, or municipal courts of record that presided over the acquittal case, or by a district court in the same county

Assigns responsibility for preparing expunction orders to the acquitted person's attorney, or to the state's attorney if the person was unrepresented

Applies retroactively to all persons entitled to expunction based on acquittals occurring before, on, or after the effective date, regardless of when the arrest occurred

Takes effect September 1, 2025
