Requires the Texas Department of Public Safety to contract with three municipal police departments in cities with populations over 500,000 to study unreported gunshots detected by gunshot detection technology

Study must track the number of unreported gunshots within municipality boundaries, results of police investigations (including whether gunshots were intentional), and the number and type of criminal charges filed

Participating police departments must submit applications identifying high-rate unreported gunshot areas, prior experience with gunshot detection technology, and proposed members of a five-person oversight committee

Five-person committee must include representatives from the municipal police department, county sheriff's department, school security personnel, a neighborhood association, and an appointee from a state representative whose district includes the municipality

Municipal police departments must submit findings by September 1, 2026; DPS must submit a summary report to the legislature by December 31, 2026; the Act expires September 1, 2027
