Amends Section 47.01(8) of the Texas Penal Code to add "commercial gaming enterprises" to the list of locations excluded from the definition of "private place" for gambling offense purposes

Defines "commercial gaming enterprise" to include for-profit poker clubs, card clubs, and game rooms

Removes the legal protection that allows gambling in "private places" from applying to commercial gaming establishments, making gambling at these venues subject to criminal penalties

Applies only to offenses committed on or after the effective date; prior offenses remain governed by former law

Takes effect September 1, 2025
