Clarifies that an unmarried minor parent with actual custody of their child may consent to medical, dental, psychological, and surgical treatment for that child by a licensed physician or dentist

Creates a new dedicated section (32.0031) in the Family Code specifically addressing consent to treatment of a child by a minor parent, separating it from provisions about a minor consenting to their own treatment

Reorganizes existing law by moving the minor parent consent provision from the general section on minors consenting to their own treatment into its own standalone section

Retains existing requirements that the minor parent must be unmarried and have actual custody of the child to provide consent for the child's treatment

Takes effect September 1, 2025
