Expands the definition of "federal prohibited person information" to include persons released from emergency detention who are prohibited under federal law from firearm activities for 30 days following their release date

Requires peace officers to report ward information to the Department of Public Safety (DPS) within one working day of placing a ward into emergency detention custody, for submission to the FBI's National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS)

Requires mental health facilities to submit identifying information (name, race, sex, date of birth, social security number, driver's license number) to DPS after releasing a person from emergency detention

Adds a new right for persons in emergency detention to be advised they are prohibited from purchasing a firearm for 30 days following their release date

Applies only to emergency detentions beginning on or after September 1, 2025, with all reported information maintained as confidential by DPS
