Exempts trustees of small rural school districts from the one-year waiting period before accepting employment with their school district after leaving the board

The exemption applies specifically to school districts entitled to the small district adjustment allotment under Section 48.101(b) of the Education Code

Current law prohibits independent school district trustees from accepting employment with that district until one year after their board membership ends; this restriction would remain in place for larger districts

Takes effect immediately with a two-thirds vote of both legislative chambers, otherwise September 1, 2025
