Requires health benefit plans that provide prescription drug benefits to cover glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonist medications for treating obesity

Applies to a broad range of health coverage issuers including insurance companies, HMOs, group hospital service corporations, multiple employer welfare arrangements, and fraternal benefit societies

Extends coverage requirements to state employee health plans (Chapter 1551), teacher retirement system plans (Chapter 1575), school employee plans (Chapter 1579), and the state Medicaid program including Medicaid managed care

Allows state agencies to delay implementation if federal waivers or authorizations are needed

Applies to health benefit plans delivered, issued, or renewed on or after January 1, 2026, with the act taking effect September 1, 2025
