Excludes certain driver's licenses from being acceptable photo identification for voting purposes, specifically those with expiration dates provided under Transportation Code Sections 521.271(a-2), (a-3), (a-4), or 521.2711(c)

Maintains current acceptable forms of voter ID including: standard driver's licenses, election identification certificates, personal identification cards from DPS, U.S. military ID cards, U.S. citizenship certificates, U.S. passport books or cards, and handgun carry licenses

Allows most forms of photo ID that have expired no earlier than four years before the date of presentation at the polls

Takes effect immediately upon receiving a two-thirds vote from both chambers of the Texas Legislature, otherwise takes effect September 1, 2025
